Illustrative sample — not a real customer
What a review looks like
This is the full shape of what $49 buys, using a worked example rather than anyone’s real document. Your review covers your own sheet, with your own numbers.
Grade
Priced fairly, financed badly.
2026 example SUV · 36 months · 10,000 miles/yr
Every finding
Money factor marked up
Quoted .00295 against a benchmark buy rate of .00195. On this cap cost that is about $95 a month, roughly $3,400 over a 36-month term. Dealers may mark the rate up over the lender's buy rate; it is one of the easier things to push back on.
Four add-ons you did not ask for
Paint and fabric protection $1,295, wheel and tire care $895, VIN etch $399, nitrogen fill $199. Total $2,788, financed, so you also pay rent charge on it. All four are optional.
Doc fee above the state norm
$999 doc fee. Georgia does not cap this, but it is well above what most sellers in the metro charge. Treat it as price, not as a fixed fee.
Residual looks correct
56% of MSRP at 36 months and 10,000 miles a year is in line with the lender's published grid. No issue here.
The payment shown does not reconcile
The monthly on the sheet is about 12% below what the stated inputs produce. Either a figure is missing or something is not written down. Ask for the lease worksheet with residual and money factor stated.
The message you send
Copy, paste, send. Written for you, in your deal’s numbers.
Hi — thanks for putting this together. Before I come in I want to line up three things. 1. Money factor. I'm seeing a base rate of .00195 for my tier on this program. The sheet shows .00295. Please requote at buy rate. 2. Add-ons. Please remove the paint and fabric protection, wheel and tire, VIN etch and nitrogen. I'm not taking any of them. 3. Doc fee. $999 is higher than I'm seeing elsewhere. I'd like that reflected in the selling price. Can you send an updated worksheet showing residual and money factor stated separately? If the numbers work I'm ready to move this week.
